Job summary

Silverstar Car Wash seeks a field-based Recruiting, Development, and Retention Manager to own the employee lifecycle across Bettendorf, IA locations. The role combines recruiting, coaching, onboarding, and retention with site-level performance metrics such as turnover and time-to-fill.

You will partner with site leaders to keep teams staffed, reduce early separations, and drive retention through targeted action plans based on local data trends.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in recruiting, HR, or multi-unit operations.
• Experience coaching frontline supervisors.
• Knowledge of at-will employment, wage/hour, and non-discrimination.
• ATS/HRIS proficiency, Paylocity preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the territory.

Responsibilities

• Partner with General Managers to manage end-to-end recruiting for hourly and site-leadership roles; step in when understaffed.
• Collaborate with the Director of Operations on interviewing and hiring General Managers.
• Build local sourcing pipelines and forecast staffing needs ahead of time.
• Conduct on-site interviews and deliver realistic job previews to reduce early turnover.
• Lead on-site onboarding and ensure required training is completed.
• Coach GMs on interviewing, onboarding, scheduling, and leadership practices.
• Identify high-potential team members and support promotion paths.
• Serve as a visible, trusted contact and surface retention concerns early.
• Escalate issues to the Regional Vice President.
• Conduct stay and exit interviews and support retention efforts.
• Track recruiting and retention metrics in Mission Control and report turnover by site.
