Job summary

VSP Technologies is seeking a Field Support Specialist to deliver technical, product, and sales support to customers, driving adoption of sealing solutions and cost savings. You will travel for on-site training, coordinate with regional sales, perform storeroom surveys, onboarding of contracts, and act as a trusted advisor to plant engineers, ensuring downtime is minimized and operations run smoothly.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience and/or training related to job functions.
• Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) proficiency.
• Customer service experience in manufacturing and/or sales (Preferred).
• Working knowledge of MAS500 (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Expand the sales of VSP products through identification of sealing needs and cost savings opportunities in new and existing clients.
• Coordinate with Sealing Specialist and Regional Sales Manager to provide customer support within all VSP industries.
• Provide direct support to VSP personnel, including Sealing Specialists, Product & Application Engineers, and Operations Support Specialists.
• Prepare and present on-site or virtual training classes to customers.
• Discover opportunities to provide sealing solutions and cost savings through training, walk and talks, and problem-solving.
• Be on-site and available on a regular basis.
• Conduct on-site storeroom surveys at customer locations.
• Aid in onboarding new contracts and maintaining existing agreements, including VMI and consignment.
• Help plant engineers anticipate needs to minimize downtime and improve efficiency during shutdowns.
• Become the customer's fluid sealing trusted advisor with technical guidance.
• Coordinate with Marketing to develop customer reference documents and visual aids.
• Provide operational support to branches in the region, including fabrication, deliveries, and pick-ups.
• Work with corporate administration and operations management to meet customer expectations.
• Establish relationships with non-customers through referrals.
• Identify key influencers on the plant's engineering team and build trust with field knowledge.
• Document the cost impact of your solutions for plants.
• Utilize Salesforce effectively.
• Promote a positive image of the company and its products and services.
• Maintain a cooperative working climate and adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
