Job summary

Lamar University is seeking a Field Supervisor to support MAT/ACP candidates in their first year of teaching across Texas. You will observe, coach, and evaluate using the T-TESS rubric and the POP cycle, coordinating with mentor teachers and school administrators.

The role covers mentoring, documentation, and partnerships with schools, with travel across designated regions (e.g., Houston, DFW, San Antonio).

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Texas Teaching Certification.
• Minimum five years of classroom experience in the field of certification.
• Experience mentoring or supervising novice teachers.
• Familiarity with T-TESS and Texas educator evaluation standards.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Observe, coach, and evaluate MAT/ACP candidates using the T-TESS rubric.
• Implement the POP cycle (pre-conference, observation, post-conference) for each candidate.
• Provide constructive feedback and coaching aligned with state educator standards.
• Mentor MAT/ACP candidates to ensure instructional growth and classroom management effectiveness.
• Build and maintain partnerships with mentor teachers, school administrators, and district personnel within assigned geographic area.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation by uploading POP cycle data and observation records.
