Job summary

Texas State University is seeking candidates to join a Field Supervisor Pool for the Office of Educator Preparation. This part-time, semester-based role involves mentoring and evaluating clinical teaching, residency, and internship candidates, with formal and informal observations and ongoing feedback.

The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and a valid Texas teaching certificate (or equivalent); a master’s degree or TEA appraiser certification may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Active, valid Texas Teaching Certificate or current principal assignment certification; if not certified, a master’s degree in related area is needed.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and evaluate clinical teaching, residency, and internship candidates.
• Meet required timelines and document progress in the university’s online system.
• Collaborate with school partners to complete evaluations and monitor candidate growth.
• Gather mentor input and recommend candidates for certification; liaise between school site and Office of Educator Preparation.
• Fulfill supervisory responsibilities as required by TEA and the university; residency supervision as needed.
