Job summary

GBA Builders is seeking a Field Superintendent for Northern Virginia to drive safe, high-quality project execution on multi-site field operations. You will lead daily activities, coordinate trades, and ensure documentation, inspections, and look-ahead scheduling are maintained to support on-time delivery.

Ideal candidates hold a construction management or engineering degree with 3+ years of relevant experience and OSHA 30-hour certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• OSHA 30-hour certification required; First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to coordinate with trade partners, project team, and site leadership.
• Familiarity with pull planning, Microsoft Project, and short-term look-ahead scheduling.
• Basic understanding of construction quality control standards and procedures.
• Proficiency in reading construction documents and MS Office/Bluebeam.
• Ability to respond to feedback and maintain professional relationships.
• Ability to recognize emotional cues and adjust behavior.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate construction activities and logistics, overseeing jobsite operations and field engineers/ trades personnel.
• Communicate with contractors and project team about ASIs, RFIs, submittals, and other docs.
• Ensure subcontractors execute their scopes and safety, health, and environmental standards.
• Manage quality-control for materials and work.
• Coordinate inspections with jurisdictions and inspectors.
• Identify and resolve conflicts related to schedule, design, quality, and safety.
• Maintain daily written logs of jobsite activities and conditions.
• Maintain a photo record of progress and site conditions.
• Create and distribute weekly three-week look-ahead schedules.
• Conduct daily huddles and weekly coordination meetings.
• Travel to jobsites as needed; operate a company vehicle.
