Job summary

Hopkins | Lacy, the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing division of Branch Group, is seeking a Field Superintendent to join the project team in Charlottesville. You will oversee field operations, supervise hourly personnel, and ensure safety, quality, and timely progress on site.

The Field Superintendent shares responsibility with the Project Manager for project success, cost control, resource management, and adherence to contract documents, plans, and schedules on assigned sites.

Qualifications

• Master’s license in Sheet Metal preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 8–10 years’ experience in construction.
• 3–5 years’ experience in supervisory position.
• Valid Driver’s License / Branch Group approved driver status.

Responsibilities

• Performs field work as part of the crew for the majority of time.
• Coordinates with PM for scheduling and cost control.
• Builds and ensures project work aligns with contract documents and specs.
• Ensures compliance with building codes, local ordinances, and guidelines.
• Develops and communicates a Grand Plan / Schedule of operation with the PM.
• Monitors changes and documents additional work and delays.
• Oversees subcontractors to meet quality and schedule requirements.
• Maintains on-site safety meetings and program implementation.
