Job summary

Carlson Brothers in Richmond, VA is seeking a Superintendent to lead the day-to-day field execution of commercial construction projects. You will coordinate subcontractors, manage site operations, and drive safety, schedule, and quality from mobilization through closeout.

You will work closely with Project Management while owning field leadership and ensuring adherence to plans and specifications for large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• 7–15+ years of commercial construction field experience.
• Proven experience as a Superintendent or lead field role.
• Experience in commercial, municipal, public safety, or multifamily construction.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead all on-site construction activities from mobilization through closeout, ensuring the jobsite is organized and well planned.
• Coordinate subcontractors, manage short-term schedules, and maintain steady progress toward milestones.
• Enforce jobsite safety requirements and lead regular safety meetings.
• Maintain quality by monitoring work, coordinating inspections, and ensuring plans and specs are met.
• Communicate with Project Management, attend meetings, and coordinate with inspectors and subcontractors to keep the project on track.
