Schindler Elevator Corporation (U.S.) in Kansas City, MO is hiring a Field Superintendent - New Installation to lead a 12–20 technician team and ensure on-time, safe project delivery.

You will coordinate schedules, materials, and payroll, work with union reps, and align with sales/project management on bids and progress. The role emphasizes safety, quality and collaboration with engineering, service and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent in relevant field experience.
• 5+ years of technical leadership experience or elevator industry experience preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to manage sensitive employee relations with proven leadership skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite.
• Strong organizational skills and experience managing tradespeople.
• Flexibility to be on call.
• Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and build a high-performing, safe team of 12–20 field technicians by enforcing company quality and safety standards.
• Coordinate daily project schedules, job site readiness walkthroughs, parts/material ordering, and payroll accuracy.
• Monitor installation progress and drive efficiency through consistent site visits and communication.
• Manage manpower levels in partnership with union representatives, resolving employee relations and staffing issues.
• Support sales and project management teams with bid estimates, job progress meetings, and complaint resolution.
• Ensure all installation projects meet contractual, company, and safety requirements.
