Job summary

Schindler Group in Chicago seeks a Field Superintendent for Existing Installations to oversee servicing and repair of units, ensuring quality, safety and customer satisfaction in line with company requirements. The role includes leading project teams, training personnel, and coordinating with sales for service orders.

Required: bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent, 5+ years of technical leadership, strong communication skills, and elevator/escalator knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent in relevant work experience in the elevator industry or other technical field.
• 5+ years of technical leadership experience preferred.
• Must have working knowledge of elevators and escalators to manage and direct field personnel to meet Area goals. Communicate well, both verbally and in writing, with proven leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure maintenance meets Area and Company quality standards and contract requirements.
• Implement quality, performance reliability and passenger safety requirements for each project.
• Support sales staff in estimating service orders, scheduling and executing orders, and resolving customer complaints; may include a sales role.
• Manage project audit to ensure conformity of performance quality and safety.
• Develop manpower selection, training and performance appraisal programs.
• Implement route management to optimize preventive maintenance and manpower.
