Job summary

Qualus is seeking experienced Relay Testing Professionals at Level III, Senior, and Lead levels in the Field Engineering department. The role covers commissioning and testing protection and control schemes for substations and plants, involving IEDs, SCADA, and IEC-61850 interfaces.

Travel to client sites is required with housing provided. Qualified candidates have 5+ years in relay testing, read One Line and wiring diagrams, and hold related technical degrees or military equivalents.

Qualifications

5+ years’ experience in relay testing and commissioning in substations; military environment acceptable for experience.
Associates or equivalent technical training eligible for Technician classification.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field may be Engineers.
Experience with reading One Line diagrams and wiring diagrams.
Ability to work in various field environments and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

Red-lines design documents across the drawing set (Single Line, AC/DC Elementary, Wiring, BOM).
Performs end-to-end testing and IED testing (manual and automated).
Identifies risks in testing and commissioning of schemes and systems.
Develops test plans and risk assessments; applies basic protection and control concepts.
Leads tasks within projects and provides technical leadership.
Conducts weekly site safety inspections.
