Job summary

Super Micro Computer in Richmond, VA seeks a Field Application Engineer to grow revenue, lead pre-sales efforts, and bridge customer needs with technical solutions. You will coordinate with sales and engineering teams to design and present optimized systems, including data center hardware and liquid cooling.

The ideal candidate has a data center background, strong communication, and the ability to work under pressure while traveling up to 25% to support customers and projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
• 2+ years of related experience with Compute/Storage Server or Data Center or IT Infrastructure.
• Hands on Data Center and Liquid Cooling experience is a definite plus.
• Excellent communication skills and business sense required.
• Strong technical communication and leadership skills to drive investigations.

Responsibilities

• Support revenue growth at all assigned accounts.
• Solution architect and presentation skills to help expand Fortune1000 account penetration and loyalty.
• Work closely with the sales and extended teams to map end-user customer business, partner requirements and provide optimized technical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership in Pre-Sales and oversee implementation of such solutions.
• Effectively engage with customers, gain and maintain trust.
• Highly technical problem solver who understands system architecture, hardware and software interaction.
• Manage and lead teams during investigation and resolution of problems in the field.
• Develop and review systems solutions, technical bid responses and presentations.
• Work cross-department to ensure customer satisfaction and timely resolution of issues.
• Ability to build and demonstrate proof-of-concept solutions that meets or exceeds customer business needs.
