Job summary

Super Micro Computer is seeking a Staff Field Application Engineer in San Jose to drive revenue with heavy customer engagement from ground to executive level. You will coordinate cross‑functional teams, architect solutions, and lead pre‑sales efforts across data center deployments.

You will work with compute/storage hardware and software, guide field investigations, and present solutions to Fortune1000 customers. Some travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering discipline.
• 12 years of related experience with Compute/Storage Server or Data Center.
• Experience with GPU based server/cluster architecture.
• Strong HW/SW diagnostics and leadership in cross-disciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with Firmware, Linux, Windows, and virtualization.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, leads and mentors team of FAE's in support of revenue growth at all assigned accounts.
• Solution architect and presentation skills to expand Fortune1000 account penetration.
• Works with sales to map end-user requirements and provide optimized technical solutions.
• Provides technical leadership in Pre-Sales and oversee implementations of such solutions.
• Engages with C-level technical customers and builds trust.
• Leads HW/SW debugging and oversees product development teams.
• Manages investigations and resolution of field issues.
• Understands firmware, OS and applications interactions causing system issues.
• Develops and reviews datacenter solutions, technical bids and presentations.
• Works cross-department to ensure customer satisfaction and timely resolution.
• Builds and demonstrates proof-of-concept meeting customer needs.
• Presents corporate brand and solutions to customers.
• Visits on-site facilities to enable solution integration.
• Some travel required (up to 25%).
