Job summary

Terra Energy in Houston, TX is seeking a Site Surveyor to conduct on-site surveys for residential solar installations, capture precise measurements, assess site conditions, and document data for system design and project planning.

You will act as the on-site eyes and ears of the operation, ensuring data accuracy, coordinating with sales, design, and permitting teams, and maintaining safety standards while traveling to project sites.

Qualifications

• Have experience in solar, construction, roofing, surveying, or a related field.
• Understand basic residential electrical systems and roof structures.
• Are comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights.
• Are proficient with smartphones, tablets, and mobile apps.
• Have strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Are able to travel locally on a daily basis.
• Have OSHA 10, drone certification, or similar credentials (a plus).

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site surveys for residential and commercial solar projects, collecting data for design and installation.
• Measure roof dimensions, pitch, azimuth, shading, and structural conditions for accurate planning.
• Review electrical panels, meter locations, and interconnection points for compatibility.
• Take detailed photos, notes, and drone imagery to provide complete visibility to teams.
• Detect potential issues such as roof damage, obstructions, shading, or access limitations.
• Enter survey data into company software and CRM systems to keep projects moving forward.
• Coordinate with sales, design, permitting, and installation teams to ensure alignment.
• Maintain tools and equipment and ensure surveys follow safety and company protocols.
• Represent the company professionally during site visits and interact with customers.
