Job summary

Shermco Industries is seeking a skilled Circuit Breaker Technician to service and test low, medium, and high voltage switchgear in the Irving, Texas area. This role involves teardown/assembly, troubleshooting, and on-site repairs for a variety of breaker manufacturers.

Candidates should have a related high school diploma or GED and electro-mechanical training; travel up to ~20% and ability to pass background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED; prefer electro-mechanical training from trade school, apprenticeship or armed services.
• Previous experience with rebuilding, repairing, and retrofitting circuit breakers.
• 480V to 15KV circuit breaker experience desired.
• PEARL breaker certification desirable.
• Prefer testing skills and understand fundamental electrical and mechanical testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work on low & medium voltage circuit breakers, including GE, Westinghouse, Powell, ABB, ITE, and many others.
• Occasionally travel overnight to jobs sites for onsite breaker testing and repair.
• Troubleshoot, rebuild, retrofit, test, and repair low, medium and high voltage switchgear; teardown and assembly of breakers, contactors and related switchgear and electrical apparatus.
