Silent-Aire, a division of Johnson Controls, seeks an engineering technician to support large-scale mechanical systems for mission-critical data centers. You will interpret drawings, install, test, and troubleshoot refrigeration and HVAC equipment, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable operation.

You will read blueprints, assemble components, and perform commissioning with a focus on safety, quality, and precise documentation in a fast-paced data center environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of cooling/refrigeration equipment and systems.
• Knowledge of electricity and electrical and solid state control systems.
• Familiarity with safety practices and building codes.
• Customer service skills.
• Experience with startup and commissioning at customer facilities.
• Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
• Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.

Responsabilités

• Read and interpret electrical, control and mechanical blueprints, drawings, and other specifications.
• Measure and lay out reference points for installation.
• Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components using hand and power tools.
• Measure and cut piping and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment.
• Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices.
• Recharge system with refrigerant, check regulators, calibrate system and perform routine maintenance.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC equipment/systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC-based Custom Controls designed and built by Silent-Aire.
• Communicate technical issues to technical and non-technical staff and stakeholders.
