Job summary

Silent-Aire, a Johnson Controls division, seeks an engineering technician with HVAC and refrigeration expertise to support data center cooling systems. You will read blueprints, install components, and troubleshoot field equipment while coordinating with design and manufacturing teams.

Travel to customer sites (domestic and international) is required. The role emphasizes safety, problem-solving, and clear communication with customers and peers.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of cooling/refrigeration equipment principles.
• Knowledge of electricity and control systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Experience with startup and commissioning at customer sites.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Must pass a DoD background check; US citizenship required.
• Able to lift 40 lbs and work at heights.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical, control and mechanical blueprints.
• Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment.
• Interface with customers in the field and with manufacturing teams.
• Travel to field site locations and provide on-site support.
• Ensure safety and compliance while performing duties.
