Job summary

Wabtec Corporation seeks a Material Management Specialist to support warehousing, inventory accuracy, and logistics for CSX locomotives. You will work with a team of experts to optimize material movement and drive improvements across operations.

The role requires 3+ years in materials management, strong analytical and leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects with stakeholders across production, engineering, and sales. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (or 4 years’ experience in materials management).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in materials management, operations, inventory control, or logistics.
• Strong analytical and influencing skills.
• Proven project management abilities across functional teams.
• Excellent problem-solving and multi-project handling capabilities.
• Effective written and spoken communication with production, engineering and sales.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Support warehousing and material management, including inventory accuracy and logistics.
• Act as the main contact for warehouse operations, site services, and upgrades.
• Improve material movement processes and participate in audits.
• Provide LHFM-related metrics, cycle counts, and reporting.
• Coordinate with Materials Manager on fulfillment and supplier interactions.
• Travel up to 25% and support training for new staff.
• Ensure onboarding of new employees and cross-training within the team.
• Reconcile open POs with total DUX for LR items.
