Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Material Management Specialist to join our Field Services Americas team in Selkirk, NY. You will help our customer maintain locomotive fleets by advising, researching, and coordinating material operations with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• 3+ years in materials management, operations, inventory control or logistics.
• Strong analytical and influencing skills.
• Proven project management across functional boundaries.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support warehousing and material management including fulfillment, inventory accuracy, productivity, and logistics.
• Serve as key contact for warehouse operations and upgrades.
• Ensure operational excellence through all phases of material movement and storage.
• Assist in inventory activities, including Physical Inventory Audits prep.
• Support Materials Manager with LHFM, In-Transits, Due From, Cycle Counts, and Shopping’s metrics.
• Meet customer satisfaction by superior planning and expediting shipments to meet deadlines.
• Lead efforts to update and streamline stand work practices.
• Manage expediting of shipments and vendor repair material to meet schedules.
• Travel up to 25% and maintain a flexible schedule including weekends/holidays/OT.
• Onboard new employees and support training; manage weekly Material Associates schedule.
