Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a materials handler to ensure safe, accurate handling and timely delivery of materials for production and remanufacturing of railroad equipment. You will coordinate with Buyers, Production Leaders and Quality teams in a fast-paced plant environment.

Responsibilities include receiving, inspecting, cycle-counting, labeling, and ERP transactions in Oracle, with forklift/pallet jack use and strict safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Highschool diploma or GED or associate degree or technical certificate in logistics, supply chain or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in materials handling, shipping and receiving or warehouse operations within manufacturing- railroad, aerospace or automotive industry experience strongly preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), experience with Oracle or other ERP systems required.
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving systems is a plus (FedEx, UPS, XPO, etc.)
• Forklift and pallet jack experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment.
• Receive, inspect and document incoming shipments.
• Perform accurate cycle counts and maintain inventory records.
• Pull, pack and stage materials and customer orders for shipment.
• Process shipping and receiving labels and documentation for FedEx, UPS, LTL, and freight carriers.
• Load and unload materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other materials handler equipment.
• Delivering materials to production areas in a timely manner.
• Perform necessary ERP transactions in Oracle.
• Support other materials-handling functions as needed to meet production and shipping deadlines.
• Provide production departments with material needed or requested in a timely and organized manner.
• Unloading customer material from Crates, pallets and other shipping containers.
• Follow safety procedures, ensure compliance with PPE requirements.
• Perform equipment inspections and follow our 2-minute warning as part of our safety procedures.
• Other tasks might be assigned as needed.
