Job summary

Wabtec is hiring a Materials Specialist to ensure locomotive maintenance materials are available, manage inventory, and coordinate shipments in a 24/7 shop. Onsite at the customer facility, you’ll pull parts, perform cycle counts, and use Oracle for transactions. Training is provided for locomotive-specific tasks.

Ideal candidates have forklift experience and strong attention to detail, with a background in logistics or warehouse roles and the ability to work non-standard schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, or warehouse environments.
• Ability to operate forklifts safely and use multiple software systems.
• Strong attention to detail and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory in a 24/7 shop environment and track metrics.
• Pull material for shop use and issue to locomotives with proper data.
• Conduct cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
• Forecast material needs and coordinate inbound/outbound shipments.
• Review shipment documents and ensure accurate paperwork for billing.
