Job summary

Hunter Recruiting is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate a wide range of diagnostic imaging equipment across healthcare facilities in Mobile, AL.   • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical duties.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and calibrate medical imaging equipment.

  • Verify radiation output and regulatory compliance through testing.

Job description

Field Service Engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating a wide range of diagnostic imaging equipment to ensure reliable performance and compliance with regulatory standards. This role partners closely with clinical staff to minimize equipment downtime, optimize system performance, and support high-quality patient care. The engineer also maintains accurate service documentation, manages equipment inventory, and provides technical guidance to team members and vendors. Success in this position requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and calibrate medical imaging equipment, including radiographic rooms, C-arms, ultrasound, and mammography systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and system diagnostics to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Verify radiation output, equipment performance, and regulatory compliance through testing and calibration.
  • Interpret error codes and perform hardware repairs, including replacing power supplies, hard drives, and other system components.
  • Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and equipment databases.
  • Collaborate with clinicians to resolve equipment issues that impact patient care and workflow.
  • Provide technical support, guidance, and training to staff, vendors, and less experienced technicians as needed.
  • Manage inventory of service parts, tools, and supplies to ensure timely equipment repairs.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory standards while performing service and maintenance activities.
  • Travel to customer or facility locations as required to perform equipment installations and repairs.

Field Service Engineer Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and installing medical imaging equipment.
  • Experience servicing imaging systems such as radiographic rooms, C-arms, ultrasound, mammography, or similar diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong computer and technical troubleshooting skills, including interpreting error codes and performing hardware repairs.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
  • Familiarity with networking applications and diagnostic software.
  • Associate degree in Electronics, Biomedical Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience, training, or biomedical certification.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical demands of equipment installation and repair.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills. \
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with clinical staff, vendors, and internal teams
