Job summary

DHL Express in New York is seeking an entry-level Service Center Associate to provide customer service, sales and operational support, answer phones, and assist with shipment processing.

You will handle tracking, resolve billing issues, coordinate pick-ups, and help with import/export paperwork; bilingual Spanish is a plus; must pass background checks and obtain SIDA badge where required.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or Equivalent required.
• Previous experience in customer service/support or related field.
• Strong Communication Skills (oral and written).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Must pass FAA, TSA, and CBP background and security checks for SIDA badge.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service, sales and operational support for the Service Center.
• Answers phone and greets visitors.
• Resolves billing problems in relation to the Service Center.
• Research shipment tracking requests and provides feedback; attempts to resolve misplaced shipments.
• Communicates with Sales/Service to resolve customer problems.
• Assists with operational procedures including sorting, loading/unloading, shipment processing and documentation, manifesting, bagging, and securing over-the-counter payments.
• Dispatches pick-up and delivery information; arranges daily pick-up schedules.
• May process or prepare import/export documentation and assist in customs clearance in some markets.
