Job summary

Topcon Positioning Group in the United States is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, support, and optimize Topcon Machine Control systems on construction equipment at active job sites. This hands-on, field-based role emphasizes travel, direct customer interaction, and a clear growth path into senior technician, trainer, or sales engineering roles.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
• Comfort troubleshooting electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
• Customer-first mindset with strong communication.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Experience with machine control installations is a plus but not required.
• Physically capable of climbing onto large equipment and lifting up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Install and service Topcon Machine Control systems on: Dozers, Motor Graders, Excavators, Skid Steers, Compactors, Pavers and Curb Machines.
• Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, hydraulic, and electronic systems to improve machine accuracy and performance.
• Research and diagnose technical issues to identify effective solutions.
• Provide pre- and post-sale technical support for customers and sales teams via: On-site visits, Phone, E-mail, Remote support tools.
• Represent the company professionally at customer job sites and build long-term relationships.
• Work outdoors in varied conditions: rain, heat, and cold are part of the job.
