Job summary

Enerflex Ltd is seeking a Field Service Technician - Trainee (AMS) to learn basic maintenance on gas compression packages under supervision. You will assist senior technicians with servicing, troubleshooting, installing, and commissioning equipment, progressing toward Technician I with guided training and hands-on practice.

The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and teamwork, with opportunities to grow into a skilled technician across field and shop environments.

Qualifications

• No experience required; 1 year transferable experience preferred.
• Trains to mastery of first-level repair and maintenance for rotating equipment.
• Performs tasks within specified timelines while gaining knowledge.
• Completes work using established procedures and safe practices.
• Accept training for field compression, power generation, rotating equipment tasks.
• Masters data entry before Technician I advancement.
• Good communicator and team member.
• Works under supervision of Technician I+ classifications.
• Able to pass GE Waukesha GET certification.
• Training includes GE Waukesha and Ariel compressor fundamentals or equivalent programs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, tune-up, calibrate and monitor prime movers and rotating equipment.
• Execute start-up, shut down, and operating procedures for compressors, electric motors, generators, etc.
• Troubleshoot major and minor repairs of engines, compressors, pumps and controls.
• Communicate effectively with customers, contractors, and vendors.
• Perform rebuilds and overhauls as required.
• Ensure equipment operates within company and customer standards.
