Job summary

TDS Telecommunications LLC is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance of telecommunications products. You will directly interact with customers, identify needs, and promote TDS services.

The role requires travel within the service area, on-call duties, and adherence to safety standards. Eligible candidates will operate in a fast-paced field environment with a focus on exceptional customer service and technical proficiency.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Willing to be on-call/standby and travel occasionally.
• Must pass all components of the Safety Course curriculum.
• Able to maintain DOT requirements for vehicles >10,000 lbs. GVWR.
• A+ certification and computer networking experience.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, test, splice, repair, and maintain telephone and network equipment at customer sites.
• Identify location of defective cable; locate/mark facilities; perform pole climbing and travel if needed.
• Provide troubleshooting support and dispatch assistance.
• Support and maintain record systems (cross connects, line groups, network elements).
• Educate customers and proactively sell TDS products and services.
