Job summary

TDS Telecom is seeking a Field Service Technician to assist with on-site installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance of telecom products. You will work closely with customers, identify needs, and promote TDS services while ensuring safety and accuracy in every job.

The role requires driving within the Appleton area, readiness for on-call shifts, and the ability to travel as needed. A valid driver's license and technical aptitude are essential for success in this field.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must follow the TDS attendance guidelines to meet business needs.
• May require being on-call/standby and occasional travel.
• Must pass Safety Course curriculum and DOT requirements for operating vehicles over 10,000 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with on-site installations, troubleshooting, testing, splicing, repairing and maintaining telecom equipment and customer premises gear.
• Locate defective cable, perform fault tests, and coordinate with field teams to restore service.
• Provide excellent customer service while educating and selling TDS products and services.
• Gain knowledge of codes, grounding practices, and outside plant maintenance.
• Maintain documentation of work performed and service records.
