Job summary

Hitachi Energy in the United States is seeking a Field Service Technician C to support Transformer Service within the US Services HUB. You will perform mechanical work in substations, inspect equipment, and service components that operate on mechanical systems.

You will document site activities using computer systems and assist with transformer testing under site leadership. The role requires traveling up to 85%, a high school diploma and 2 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Work authorization to work in the United States.
• 2 years of professional work experience.
• Experience performing mechanical work in electrical substations and supporting field service activities.
• Valid driver's license; ability to travel up to 85%.
• Outdoor work in all weather; lift up to 50 lbs; climb ladders.
• Associate degree in a related field is a plus.
• Class A CDL is a plus.
• Welding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical work in electrical substations.
• Inspect equipment, structures, and materials to identify errors, defects, or other issues.
• Service, repair, and adjust equipment components operating on mechanical systems.
• Resolve customer issues by evaluating information and selecting appropriate solutions.
• Use computers to set up functions, enter data, and process site visit information.
• Operate and maintain vacuum oil processors and oil handling equipment.
• Complete vacuum oil processing logs and support transformer testing activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and procedures.
