Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform hands-on mechanical work at electrical substations and customer sites across the United States. You will inspect, service, and adjust equipment, support transformer testing, and gain experience with oil-processing equipment.

The role requires travel up to 85%, rigorous safety practices, and teamwork with field professionals to ensure reliability of transformer systems and energy infrastructure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of professional work experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 85%.
• Class A CDL is a plus.
• Welding experience is a plus.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on mechanical work in electrical substations and at customer sites.
• Inspect equipment, structures, and materials to identify potential problems.
• Service, repair, and adjust equipment that operates primarily through mechanical principles.
• Analyze information and evaluate results to determine effective solutions for customer issues.
• Perform safety-focused physical activities and maintain logs for site activities.
• Operate and maintain oil processing equipment under site leadership.
• Support transformer testing activities and collaborate with field teams to complete projects.
