Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a Field Service Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain rotating equipment on customer sites across North America. You will travel frequently and work with top technicians, using precision tools to diagnose issues and perform on-site diagnostics and overhauls.

The role emphasizes safety, customer service, and quality workmanship, with opportunities to advance through hands-on training and exposure to bearing, gear, and motor systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with AC/DC motors, gearboxes, pumps, or similar rotating industrial equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret precision measuring instruments and technical blueprints.
• Strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, continuous improvement environment.
• Excellent customer-facing communication and technical reporting.
• Valid driver’s license; willing to work flexible hours, overtime, and weekends for on-call field service.
• Experience with PdMA testing or Level I Vibration Analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Precision Assembly & Alignment: install/remove AC/DC motors and coupled equipment; perform laser alignments and set gaps per OEM specs.
• Detailed Mechanical Inspections: use micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators to diagnose wear and verify tolerances.
• Advanced Overhauls: replace bearings, gearboxes, and torque-critical components with specialized tooling.
• Technical Testing: conduct tests with portable equipment to ensure system reliability.
• Specialized Maintenance: clean and prep electro-mechanical equipment with bead/ice blasting and solvents.
• Safety & Collaboration: follow safety standards while working solo or in teams.
