Job summary

Bobst North America is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician (FST), Mechanical, for the Folding Carton, Hot Foil Stamping line. You will service, repair, and install machines, traveling extensively to customer sites and supporting a global network.

You must have a strong mechanical/engineering background, hands-on tool knowledge, and excellent customer service skills. Local candidates near major airports preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in packaging or finishing converting as a mechanic on flat bed die cutters
• Background in mechanical engineering
• Diagnosing faults and making recommendations in customer environments
• Knowledge of hand and power tools
• Fluency with the metric system

Responsibilities

• Provide machine repairs and installations for Folding Carton and Hot Foil Stamping lines
• Relocate existing equipment and train customers
• Perform preventative maintenance and order parts as needed

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician (FST), Mechanical, for the Folding Carton, Hot Foil Stamping product line. The FST provides timely and efficient machine repairs and installations for customers. This individual will serve as the front-line representative for the BOBST product range.

• 85-95% TRAVEL REQUIRED – Candidates must have flexibility to travel extensively throughout Canada and the US. Ideal candidate located within 1 hour from a major international airport.

The FST is at the core of an extensive support network of service personnel worldwide. This trusted advisor is the key customer representative, responsible for confirming, clarifying, and meeting the customers’ expectations at every stage of contact and on every service, project relating to our machines. The FST possesses a strong background in the principles of mechanical & electrical engineering. They think logically and enjoy solving problems with creativity, diligence and above all else, focus on excellent customer service.

Principle Responsibilities

Machine Service (electrical & mechanical), including the repair and installation of new machines, relocation of existing equipment, customer training, preventative maintenance, ordering parts necessary to perform installations and repair, troubleshooting problems and proactively recommend the necessary service and maintenance programs.

Key Skills & Attributes

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the packaging industry or finishing converting industry working as a mechanic on flat bed die cutters.
• Background in mechanical engineering
• Diagnosing faults and make recommendations in customer environment
• Knowledge of hand and power tools

Compensation & Benefits

In good faith and in alignment with current market data, the base salary for this position is estimated to range between $70,000 - $80,000 USD annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
