Job summary

B&B Packaging Technologies is seeking a field service professional to install, commission, service, and optimize packaging machinery across North America. You will train operators, perform upgrades, and work closely with our service team and the German parent company.

Expect extensive travel (approximately 80%), remote troubleshooting support, and on-site customer training. A strong electro-mechanical background and hands-on installation experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, motor controls, PLCs, and servo systems.
• Hands-on experience installing, servicing, troubleshooting, or modifying machinery.
• Field service or packaging equipment experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, service and troubleshoot B&B packaging machines at customer sites throughout North America.
• Perform machinery start-ups, provide technical support, conduct operator and maintenance training, and install upgrades and modifications.
• Work with mechanical diagrams, drawings, prints, and schematics to assemble machinery components and additional modules.
• Provide on-site training to customer employees and explain technical information clearly and understandably.
• Troubleshoot machinery issues remotely by gathering the necessary information from customers and supporting the effective resolution of technical problems.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and optimize packaging processes at customer sites.
• Document service activities, technical findings, and relevant customer information to support service quality and strong customer relationships.
• Provide emergency service support, including short-notice assignments when required by customer situations.

Travel: Approximately 80% throughout North America

Join B&B Packaging Technologies and work hands-on with sophisticated packaging machinery at customer sites throughout North America. In this customer-facing role, you will install, commission, service, and optimize equipment while providing technical support and training. You will work independently in the field while collaborating closely with our service team and B&B’s parent company in Germany.

Your Profile

• Strong knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, motor controls, PLCs, and servo systems.
• Hands-on experience installing, servicing, troubleshooting, or modifying machinery.
• Field service or packaging equipment experience is a plus.
• Strong computer skills for technical support and documentation.
• Good English communication skills; Spanish or German is a plus.
• Independent, flexible, reliable, and customer-focused work style.
• Ability to explain technical topics clearly and train customer employees.
• Willingness to travel approximately 80%, including occasional short-notice assignments.
• Flexibility regarding working hours and willingness to learn B&B’s machinery and customer-specific solutions.
