Job summary

Vallen is seeking a Service Technician I focused on Instrument, Fire, and Respiratory services in the Vallen Safety Services group. You will perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs on safety equipment for established customers on a scheduled basis.

You will conduct service calls, identify discrepancies, prepare reports, and ensure proper documentation for invoicing while maintaining safety and regulatory standards. A valid TWIC and safety cards are required.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Minimum 1 Certification (manufacturer/state).
• Minimum 1 year related experience.
• TWIC Card and Basic Safety Council Card required.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Experience in inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of safety equipment.
• Current Motor Vehicle License with good driving record.
• Commercial Driver's License required if carrying loads of hazardous materials.
• Able to read, write and comprehend English.

Responsibilities

• Conduct service calls.
• Identify equipment discrepancies.
• Prepare accurate Technician Worksheets (TWS) and reports.
• Provide customer service in inspecting, testing, maintenance and repairs of Life Safety Equipment (fire extinguishers, hose, gas detectors, respiratory equipment, fall protection, showers/eyewashes).
• Provide testing/repair documentation and ensure accuracy for invoicing.
• Ensure customer has required documentation upon servicing equipment.
• Follow regulatory standards (State, OSHA, NFPA) and Vallen SOPs.
• Maintain safe work practices.
• Assist in shipping/receiving, unload trucks, match POs to SOs, distribute to sales staff.
