Job summary

Vallen is seeking a Service Technician I focused on Instrument, Fire, and Respiratory services in the Vallen Safety Services group. You will perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs on safety equipment for established customers on a scheduled basis.

In this role you will handle service calls, document results with Technician Worksheets, and ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA standards and Vallen SOPs while maintaining a strong focus on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Minimum 1 Certifications (manufacturer/state) required.
• Experience in Inspection, Testing, Maintenance and Repair of Safety Equipment.
• Must read, write and comprehend English.
• Valid drivers license; CDL preferred for hazardous materials handling.

Responsibilities

• Conducting service calls.
• Identifying equipment discrepancies.
• Preparing accurate and timely Technician Worksheets (TWS) and reports.
• Providing customer service in Inspecting, Testing, Maintenance and Repairs of Life Safety Equipment (Fire Extinguishers, Fire Hose, Gas Detection Monitors, Respiratory Equipment, Fall Protection Equipment, Safety Shower/Eyewash).
• Responsible for testing and repair documentation and invoicing-ready paperwork.
• Ensure customer has complete copies of all documentation upon servicing equipment.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards (State, OSHA, NFPA) and Vallen SOPs.
• Always exhibit safe work practices.
• Assist in shipping and receiving, unloading, checking in merchandise, and distribution to sales associates.
• May use company assets such as Vehicle, Inventory, Safety Equipment, Laptop, BR Scanner, Test Equipment, Tools, Radio, Cell Phone, Fuel Card, Credit Card.
• Maintain asset care per Vallen policies.
