Job description

To support customers with (but not limited to) Amada Lasers in the Columbus, OH territory. This includes installation, service, operational training, networking, programming training, software training, application training, and laser automation training. The duties are not exclusive of performing the same functions for Punch Press and combination machines, including automated material loading/unloading machines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, control systems, as well as networks.
2. Able to follow layout drawings and blueprints used in equipment installation.
3. Complete daily service reports and weekly expense reports.
4. Communicate effectively in English.
5. Maintain excellent customer relations and follow-through.
6. Manage the entire equipment installation process at the customer site, including use of hand tools, climbing, bending, and stooping.
7. Operate, apply, and program software, and train customers on these functions.
8. Use Amada application software for line control and part programming.
9. Travel regularly within the assigned territory.
10. Lift up to 50 lbs.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

• Reports to the Regional Service Manager.

SUBORDINATE STAFF:

None.

KNOWLEDGE:

• Preferably a 4-year degree in Electronics or a related 2-year degree with relevant work experience.

SKILLS:

• Analyze and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, optical, and electrical systems.
• Use hand tools, Volt/Ohm meter, and Oscilloscope.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Windows OS.
• Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Be accountable for providing comprehensive service and support to customers.

TRAVEL:

• Routine travel within the territory with occasional overnight stays.
• Territory: Columbus, OH.

PAY RATE:

$27.00 - $30.00 per hour.
