Job description

To support customers with (but not limited to) Amada Lasers in the Columbus, OH territory. This includes installation, service, operational training, networking, programming training, software training, application training, and laser automation training. The duties are not exclusive of performing the same functions for Punch Press and combination machines, including automated material loading/unloading machines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, control systems as well as networks.
2. Able to precisely follow layout drawings and blueprints used in the installation of equipment.
3. Complete status (service) reports on a daily basis and expense reports on a weekly basis.
4. The ability to communicate in the English language.
5. Excellent customer relations and follow-through.
6. Managing the total equipment installation process at the customer site, including use of hand tools, climbing, bending, and stooping.
7. Operation, applications, software, and part programming capabilities, and customer training of such.
8. Use of Amada applications software used in line control and part programming.
9. Regular travel within assigned territories.
10. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• The ability to communicate in the Spanish language.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

• Reports to Regional Service Manager

SUBORDINATE STAFF:

• None

KNOWLEDGE:

• A 4-year degree in Electronics or a minimum of a 2-year degree with related work experience preferred.

SKILLS:

• Ability to analyze and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, optical, and electrical systems.
• Ability to use hand tools, Volt/Ohm meter, and Oscilloscope.
• Working knowledge of computers and Windows OS.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Being accountable and responsible for servicing and supporting a customer throughout their ownership of the machine.

TRAVEL:

• Routine travel within assigned territories with occasional overnight stays.
• Territory - Columbus, OH Territory.

PAY RATE:

$27.00 - $30.00/HR
