Job Overview

Are you mechanically inclined with a knack for hands-on work? Do you enjoy a flexible schedule and working independently, but also have the support of a team? The Equipment Service Technician is a remote-based, customer-facing role, primarily working inside hospitals. You will troubleshoot and repair medical equipment used in surgical procedures, and support installation of complex mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic units. Our main equipment portfolio includes washers and sterilizers, the core of our company's founding products. Join us to advance your career!

Ideal Background

Experience in HVAC repair, mechanics, maintenance, refrigeration, boilers, chillers, equipment repair, diesel and automotive repair, aviation repair, plumbing, or electrical work is often successful.

Responsibilities

1. Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of STERIS and competitor equipment.
2. Manage time effectively to complete preventive maintenance, service calls, warranty work, installations, and upgrades.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to escalate issues and document troubleshooting activities.
4. Provide customers with information, pricing, and repair options; build relationships to enhance customer experience and identify sales opportunities.
5. Support various locations within the assigned territory based on service agreements and customer needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of relevant work experience, including 2 years in a technical role. Certifications or military experience in related fields are a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background and physical requirements for vendor credentialing.
• Effective communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
• Flexible schedule with potential overnight and early/late hours.
• Ability to meet hospital credentialing requirements.
