Job summary

BearCom is seeking a Field Service Technician II to install and support wireless communications systems. You will work on customer sites to deliver high-quality service and practical RF solutions.

The role requires 5+ years of field experience, strong RF theory knowledge, and the ability to read schematics. Extensive on‑the‑job training and certification support are provided, with travel and on-call duties possible.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Service Technician experience in diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment in the 2-way radio wireless and /or communication field.
• Extensive knowledge of 2-way radio theory and RF propagation across frequency bands.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Knowledge of battery backup systems, base stations, repeaters, multicouplers, duplexers, TCP/IP concepts and NIC programming.

Responsibilities

• Install and service Wireless Communications Equipment (UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz systems, dispatch consoles, DAS/BDA, CCTV).
• Create mid-level programming codeplugs (12+ channels, trunking, multiple zones).
• Recommend appropriate equipment to meet customer requirements.
• Travel regionally and/or overnight; on-call may be required.
