Job summary

BearCom is seeking a Field Service Technician II to install and support wireless communications systems at client sites in the United States. You will be the heart of service locations, delivering on-site expertise and superior customer solutions with a focus on reliability and safety.

The role involves programming codeplugs, installing RF equipment across multiple bands, recommending hardware to fit customer needs, and occasional regional travel with on-call hours. Training is extensive.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of service technician experience in diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment in the 2-way radio wireless field.
• Extensive knowledge of 2-way radio theory and RF propagation across frequency bands.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Proficiency with test equipment including spectrum analyzers, watt meters, TDRs, FDRs, and multimeters.
• MS Office proficiency and a valid driver's license are required.

Responsibilities

• Create mid-level programming codeplugs (12+ channels, trunking, multiple zones).
• Install and service wireless communications equipment (UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz systems, Dispatch consoles, BDA/DAS, microwave, CCTV).
• Recommend appropriate equipment and hardware to meet customer requirements.
• Some regional/overnight travel and on-call hours may be required.
