Job summary

BearCom is seeking a Field Technician to install, maintain, and support wireless communications equipment for public safety and enterprise customers. You will diagnose, repair, and program Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, and Vertex gear, and collaborate on DAS/BDA projects while traveling to customer sites as needed.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in the radio field, strong troubleshooting skills, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment.
• Extensive knowledge of 2-way radio theory and RF propagation characteristics.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Knowledge of DAS and BDA systems.
• Proficiency with test equipment (spectrum analyzers, watt meters, etc.).
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and provide technical support for wireless communications equipment.
• Diagnose and repair equipment problems with customers in a positive and efficient manner.
• Repair equipment by replacing defective modules or components.
• Assist with site surveys and FATP results and document outcomes.
• Prepare quotes, bids, and schedules for installation and repair tasks.
• Travel as needed and participate in on-call rotations.
