Job summary

BearCom is seeking a Field Service Technician II to install and support wireless communications systems. You will be central to service locations, delivering expert solutions and outstanding customer service, with the ability to create effective field programming and troubleshooting strategies.

The role involves regional travel, on‑call hours, and collaborating with customers to meet challenging requirements while supporting Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, and other equipment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of service technician experience in diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment in the 2‑way radio wireless field.
• Knowledge of 2‑way radio theory and RF propagation across frequency bands.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Knowledge of battery backup systems, base stations, repeaters, and AI devices.
• Experience with MS Office Suite.
• Valid driver’s license; security clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create mid‑level programming codeplugs for 12+ channels, trunking, and multiple zones.
• Install and service wireless equipment (UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz systems, dispatch consoles, DAS/BDA, CCTV).
• Recommend equipment meeting customer requirements.
• Occasional regional or overnight travel and on‑call hours may be required.
