Job summary

BearCom is seeking a Field Service Technician II to install and support wireless communications systems. You will be at the heart of service locations, delivering top-notch customer service and technically creative solutions that meet demanding customer needs.

The ideal candidate has a strong electronics background and experience diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing RF equipment, with knowledge of two-way radio theory and RF propagation. Travel and on-call hours may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of service technician experience in diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment.
• Extensive knowledge of 2-way radio theory and RF propagation across bands.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Proficiency with various test equipment (spectrum analyzers, watt meters, TDRs, FDRs, multimeters).
• Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Excel.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Drug screens and background checks are part of hiring process.

Responsibilities

• Create Mid-Level Programming Codeplugs (12+ channels, trunking, multiple zones).
• Install and service wireless equipment (UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz, dispatch consoles, DAS/BDA, microwave, CCTV).
• Recommend equipment and hardware meeting customer requirements.
• Some regional/overnight travel and on-call hours may be required.
