Job summary

Special Order Systems Inc seeks a field technician to repair, install and maintain telecom and networking gear across California, including correctional facilities. The role involves travel, on-site installations, and hands-on support for customers.

You will work with Windows OS, VOIP, and various networking technologies while coordinating with dispatch and other teams to ensure timely problem resolution and inventory management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3 years installation and maintenance of telecom and networking devices.
• Experience with Windows OS, VOIP, Adtran Fortinet, AOS, Cisco IOS and wireless tech.
• Telephony experience including cable pulling and terminations.
• Networking cabling knowledge (cat3/cat5/cat6).

Responsibilities

• Travel throughout California as required by operations; overnight stays possible.
• Repair, maintain, program and install telecom hardware and networking equipment.
• Install phones, kiosks, tablets and related equipment in correctional facilities within area.
• Support site surveys, pre-bid meetings and sales conferences.
• Coordinate with dispatch for ETA and arrival information.
• Troubleshoot issues by interfacing with multiple departments for resolution.
• Educate and train customers on Securus products and services.
• Maintain inventories and assets; manage tools and equipment.
