Job summary

Hobart Service is seeking a Service/Repair Technician 2 to provide on-site support for commercial food equipment, including installation and service. The role requires mechanical and electrical aptitude with troubleshooting experience and includes an on-call/after-hours schedule at times.

You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, interpret schematics, and maintain tools and inventory across customer sites. Safety policies and procedures must be followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2–4 years electrical and mechanical experience, or HVACR experience with EPA certification.
• HVACR experience with EPA certification is acceptable; vocational HVACR certificate also qualifies.
• Associate's degree or vocational certificate preferred.
• Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial cooking and/or refrigeration equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Installs mechanical and electrical commercial food equipment and assists in more advanced installs as needed.
• Maintains, diagnoses, and repairs basic mechanical commercial food equipment for customers on contract or time and materials basis.
• Interprets and follows schematic diagrams and understands sequence of operations.
• Completes and documents preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Adheres to Hobart Service safety manuals and programs; supports customer experience and branch objectives.
• Maintains tools, vehicle, and inventory; travels to customer sites as required.
