Job summary

Clean Harbors in Elgin, IL is seeking a Field Services Technician I to join our safety conscious team. This role performs tasks related to hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation and equipment decontamination in the field.

Responsibilities include operating equipment, handling hazardous materials, observing safety guidelines, and supporting emergency response on a rotating on-call basis. The position requires physical labor, willingness to work outdoors in all weather and to pass background

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform physical labor and operate equipment.
• On-call commitment and possible extended shifts (up to 12–24 hrs).
• Background check, drug test, and medical exam required.
• Comply with OSHA respirator standards during responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety by following policies.
• Operate light and heavy equipment and tools.
• Handle hazardous materials and safe loading/unloading of waste.
• Participate in field sampling and meter calibration.
• Work outdoors in all weather and at various elevations.
• Be on-call for emergency response on a rotating basis.
