Job summary

Clean Harbors in Elgin, IL is seeking a Field Services Technician II to join our safety-conscious team, performing hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, equipment decontamination and handling of hazardous materials.

This role requires physical labor, on-call availability, and strict adherence to health, safety and regulatory requirements. You will operate equipment, perform field sampling, complete paperwork, and support emergency responses as needed.

Qualifications

• Must pass a background check, drug test, and physical.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Capable of performing physical tasks per responsibilities.
• On-call availability, weekends/holidays may be required.
• Compliance with OSHA respiratory standards where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Health and Safety as the top priority by following policies.
• Perform strenuous physical labor including lifting and pulling heavy objects.
• Operate light and heavy equipment and use hand tools and powered tools.
• Wear and properly use PPE, including respirators and protective gear.
• Work in varied temperatures and weather conditions.
• Handle hazardous materials and follow regulatory requirements.
• Complete associated paperwork such as inspections and permits.
• Safely operate vehicles per DOT and company guidelines.
• Be on-call for emergency responses on a rotating basis.
