Job summary

EnerSys is seeking a motivated Field Service Technician I to perform on-site service, maintenance, and repair of UPS, switchgear, and related equipment at customer locations. You will support telecommunications, data centers, and emergency power needs with a customer-oriented approach.

Primary duties include shadowing senior technicians, handling basic maintenance, and ensuring safety and compliance on every call. A clean driving record and ability to work independently are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 6-12 months of experience in field service or a related role, preferably in the electrical field.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Physical ability to lift and carry equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
• Desirable Skills: Familiarity with electrical systems and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Shadow experienced technician on service calls and assist with on-site visits.
• Perform basic equipment checks and travel to customer sites for installation and repair.
• Under supervision, complete preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance.
• Maintain accurate records of service calls and interactions; prepare service and expense reports.
• Manage company assets including a service vehicle, parts inventory, tools and test equipment.
