Job summary

Southern States Material Handling is seeking a Field Service Mechanic/Technician to service and repair propane, diesel, and electric forklifts and related equipment across our Florida territory. You'll be supplied with a service van and tools and will travel to customer sites for maintenance and repairs.

This full-time role offers paid training, opportunities for certification, and a supportive team environment with growth into advanced service work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training is a plus.
• Mechanical/electrical knowledge from coursework or experience.
• ASE certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues; may operate test equipment.
• Operate forklifts for troubleshooting and post-repair QA checks.
• Disassemble and reassemble engines, transmissions, and hydraulic/electric components.
• Perform servicing with appropriate fluids and lubricants.
• Quote customers for services or parts needed and document work orders.
• Read manuals, blueprints, and schematics to guide repairs.
• Maintain safety procedures and professional conduct on-site.
