Job summary

Southern States Material Handling is seeking a Field Service Mechanic/Technician in Florida. You will travel to customer sites with your own van and tooling to diagnose and repair propane, diesel and electric forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and related equipment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Technical school coursework in electrical, mechanical, or automotive fields is a plus.
• ASE certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical malfunctions and use test equipment.
• Operate forklifts for troubleshooting and QA checks after repairs.
• Dismantle/assemble engines, transmissions, differentials, fuel and hydraulic systems.
• Service forklifts with water, fuels, oils and lubricants; use cleaners when needed.
• Align/repair/replace worn components; use hand/power tools and precision instruments.
• Ensure completion of work and customer satisfaction; document work orders.
• Stay current with TMHU online training; manage multiple orders with timely completion.
• Keep paperwork accurate and signed off by customers; communicate with dispatcher.
• Work with customers to identify and resolve equipment issues; use manuals and schematics.
