Job summary

Sudden Service, Inc. is seeking a diesel mechanic with hydraulics expertise to maintain and service equipment for our Taylor Machine Works customers.

You will diagnose malfunctions, perform repairs or replacements, and ensure machines operate reliably upon delivery and during maintenance intervals. The role requires strong communication, ability to work on-site at customer locations, overnight travel as needed, and compliance with DOT requirements.

Qualifications

• Three years on-the-job experience in diesel mechanics and hydraulics.
• Some vocational or formal schooling in hydraulics and diesel engine repair.
• Must be DOT certifiable; 21+ to be DOT certified.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Experience staying overnight at out-of-town locations may be required.

Responsibilities

• Consult with Service Supervisor to plan effective work and travel schedules.
• Diagnose malfunctions, repair and/or replace worn parts; adjust devices.
• Provide tools and arrange facilities to perform repair work (usually on customer premises).
• Inspect, operate, and test machines on delivery and maintenance intervals.
• Complete work orders and related paperwork promptly (JSA, receipts, etc.).
• Train new servicemen or supervise a team on large repairs.
