Job summary

Sudden Service, INC (SSI) is seeking a Service Technician to continue strong customer relations and provide prompt, efficient service on Taylor equipment. Responsibilities include machine inspections, warranty guidance, and on-site repairs or replacements, with a focus on timely reporting and accurate billing.

Role requires hydraulics and diesel repair experience, DOT certification eligibility, and willingness to travel or stay overnight as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills required.
• DOT certifiable (must be 21+).
• Incumbents must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Plan effective work and travel with Service Supervisor, prioritizing customer needs.
• Diagnose malfunctions, repair/replace worn parts, install new assemblies and adjust controls.
• Provide tools/parts and arrange facilities to perform repair work (usually on customer premises).
• Inspect, operate, and test machines on delivery, at inspection intervals, and after repair.
• Report time, mileage, parts, travel, and other details for billing.
• Promote the company image; pursue training to improve technical skills.
• Train new servicemen or supervise a team on large units or joint repairs.
• Complete work orders and related paperwork promptly.
